Due to the closing of the Mira Costa campus for the rest of the school year, we are not able to move forward with our spring shoe drive fundraiser. The community shoe drop-off day previously scheduled for May 23rd has been cancelled.

Thank you to everyone who already contributed shoes for this fundraiser. They will be donated to a local used clothing collection agency.

If you still have shoes to donate, please drop off directly to Goodwill, Salvation Army, or other  agency when their facilities reopen.

Choir Virtual Banquet & Awards Ceremony

Tues., June 2, 2020

Please mark your calendar and join us to commemorate a wonderful year of choir.

We will be hosting a choir virtual banquet and awards ceremony via Zoom beginning at 5 pm on Tuesday, June 2nd. 

The event will include videos from all the Costa choirs, senior recognitions, speeches by class presidents, and choir awards presentations. 

Mr. Hayden is retiring, so this will be his last choir banquet and an extra special celebration. Don't miss it!

The event is open to choir students and parents. Please be on the lookout for additional info and instructions, coming soon, for joining the event via Zoom.

Looking forward to sharing a wonderful evening with our Costa Choir family!

Dear Costa Choir Parents, Students, and Alumni,

With the uncertainty that surrounds whether the Mira Costa campus will be reopened before the end of the school year, the decision has been made not to move forward with producing a spring concert program in either printed or digital form. However, we will, instead, create a printed year-end keepsake booklet (similar to a concert program but with modified content) that will include letters from our directors, class photos, senior spotlight information, personal ads for students, etc.. The distribution of these booklets will be limited to one per choir family, and we well get them to everyone by the end of the school year as mementos for all our amazing choir students.

What does this mean for program ads?

If you already purchased a personal ad for your student, it will be used in the keepsake booklet, instead. If you haven't bought an ad but would like to do so, we are extending the order deadline to this Friday, May 8th. Putting an ad in the...

Dear MBUSD Music Family and Friends,

To the many students, parents, alumni, and community members who have submitted public comments in advance of tomorrow's (Wednesday) school board meeting - thank you so much! We are grateful you shared your stories and raised your voice in support of music in our district.  

If you would like to submit a comment but haven't done it yet, it's not too late! You you can do so until 4:00 pm tomorrow, Wednesday, April 15th. Here is the link you will need to submit a comment:

You'll be asked to "Select an Item #" to address to the Board of Trustees for a specific item on the agenda.  Please choose:  F.1 (Board Subcommittee re. Music Programs)

Please be sure your comments are 400 words or less (as per school board guidelines).

Just a reminder:  Please do not include any negative comments levied toward any individual board member...
