ACTION REQUIRED -- ALL CHOIR FAMILIES

Dear Mira Costa Choir Parents,

Thank you to everyone who's already signed up to volunteer with the Costa Choir Dept. to staff the MB 10K race, coming up on Oct. 7th. This is a big fundraiser for our choirs, and we really appreciate your help. More info will be sent out to volunteers in the days leading up to the event.  Please be on the lookout for additional instructions from the choir dept.'s 10K race co-chairs, Juliette Deinum-Buck and T Stone.

ALL VOLUNTEERS (this includes all Mira Costa Choir students, as well as all parents who've signed up to help with the race) are required to have a completed and signed online registration/waiver on file with the race committee in advance.  Here's a link to the form: Volunteer for Manhattan Beach 10K Race Committee with VolunteerLocal - simple volunteer registration

All choir parents are required to submit this online form for their student

(must be signed and submitted by an adult over the age of 18 on behalf of their child).

All  students in all the Costa choirs are expected to volunteer for the race and have been given specific volunteer assignments on race day. If your child is not able to fulfill their volunteer assignment for any reason, he or she needs to have the volunteer absence pre-approved. Please contact Juliette Deinum-Buck jbackpack@gmail.com for more information on volunteer absence pre-approvals.

All parents who've signed up to volunteer for the race are also required to complete the online registration/waiver form for themselves.

All forms must be submitted by Oct. 1st. Please take a few minutes now to complete and submit your form(s).

Here are instructions:

IF YOU OR YOUR STUDENT ARE ALREADY SIGNED UP WITH THE CHOIR DEPT. TO ASSIST WITH WATER STATIONS, CLEAN UP, COURSE CONTROL, OR VE SINGING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM:

1. Click on the above link to go to the "volunteerlocal" page for the 10K race.

2. Ignore the top 1/3 of the page and the "Already volunteering? Check your status" tab (that portion of the page is intended for other community volunteers). Instead, go directly to the list of dates, and select the Oct. 7th shift option.

3.  From the pop-up menu, select the job you've signed up for with the Choir Dept. (either Water Stations/Clean Up/Vocal Ensemble -OR- Course Control). If you have any question about which job you've been assigned, please contact Juliette Deinum-Buck jbackpack@gmail.com.

4.  Fill out the required sections for email address, name, phone number, and t-shirt size.

5  Read and sign the online waiver. Enter your name as "Parent" in the signature section when completing the form for your student.

6. Click on "Sign Up to Volunteer" to submit the form.

You'll receive an immediate email confirmation that your registration/waiver has been received.

IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY SIGNED UP BUT WOULD LIKE TO HELP, THERE ARE 2 OPTIONS:

Contact Juliette Deinum-Buck jbackpack@gmail.com to find out which 10K volunteer positions are still available with the choirs (not open to the general public).  Don't fill out the online registration/waiver until you've contacted Juliette, as not all positions are still open. You'll be able to go back online later to fill out the form and submit your registration/waiver once you've gotten your job assignment from Juliette.

- OR -

For those of you who would like to help, but you are not available on race day,  there are spots available to the General Public on October 5, 6 and 7 to assist with Registration Number Pick-up at the Village Runner. We have been asked to reach out to our choir family to help fill these positions. On the online form, select any date and job you're interested in that is open to the general public, and then proceed with completing the rest of the form and waiver. You'll be included in the pool of general community volunteers (not choir volunteers) and should follow instructions provided to you by the Manhattan Beach 10K race committee.  You won't receive additional communication or instruction from the Costa Choir Dept. race chairs.

Thank you, again, to all our wonderful MB 10K race volunteers, and especially to Juliette and T for organizing and staffing this amazing event for the Costa Choir Dept.
