Choir Announcement

Mark McCormick is our new Choir Director!

We are so happy to announce that Mr. Mark McCormick is our new Choir Director! Mr. McCormick will be teaching our three choirs, as well as be mentoring our a capella groups, Coterie and Muscle. He will also be teaching AP Music Theory. As Dr. Dale observed about Mr. McCormick in the rehearsal room over the last 13 years, "he has years of expertise getting our singers ready to sing. He knows how to get the most out the student’s talent. I have seen him lead it time and time again. He would often step in during rehearsals to work with a section or on a specific piece to get the right pitch, tenor and feeling. The confidence he displays in his direction translates to the singer’s performance and improvement. “Wall of sound” does not even come close to what he can do with a choir. He has a wonderful rapport with kids, and the choirs love him. He is expertly prepared to teach our kids, and has the heart, soul, and passion to create many more tears of joy for many listeners for many more years. I can’t wait to see what happens next." Mr. McCormick has also stepped in to the role of directing the middle school choirs. Mrs. Gold-Pollak has elected to take a year off from teaching so that she can spend more time with her family. Watch the video to hear Mr. McCormick kick off the 2020-2021 school year in his own words.
